Infusions and injections

NAD+ infusion

NAD+ is a coenzyme involved in cellular metabolism. This option concerns intravenous administration of an NAD+ preparation after an individual clinical review. The role of NAD in biology and the benefit of an infusion are separate questions.

In detail

Why it may come up in your assessment

Interest in NAD often begins with concerns about energy or recovery. In HLC care, those concerns should first be placed in context: sleep, workload, medicines, nutrition and possible medical causes. An infusion should have a specific rationale rather than being a default response to tiredness or an age score.

What the evidence needs to show

Studies that track NAD-related compounds during an infusion help describe metabolism and exposure. They do not establish that the treatment prevents disease, reverses ageing or reliably improves everyday performance. A blood NAD result also does not automatically identify who would benefit from an infusion.

What to agree before the visit

Confirm the actual sterile preparation, proposed dose, expected duration and monitoring. Tell the clinician about medicines, illnesses and previous infusion reactions. Injection quality matters: food-grade ingredients are not automatically suitable for sterile medicines.

Report discomfort, nausea, chills, dizziness or breathing symptoms immediately during treatment. Further sessions should depend on a considered review of benefit, tolerability and alternatives. The recorded catalogue dose is not a personal prescription.
