Why the goal should be specific
A useful session has a defined purpose and a way to assess it. In HLC care, the discussion should connect the proposed light treatment to your concern and the rest of the plan. A general claim about cellular energy is not enough to establish a visible skin change, faster recovery or a longevity benefit.
What the session involves
The team positions the selected area at the prescribed distance and follows the device instructions. Tell them about photosensitivity, relevant skin conditions and medicines that affect light sensitivity. Use the eye protection required for that device.
What to expect
Red and near-infrared light differ from ultraviolet tanning exposure. Some applications have clinical evidence, but effects vary with the indication and device. Irritation or discomfort can occur. Agree a review point; an individual response and the need for repeated sessions should not be assumed in advance.
